Slow Memory series
Slow Memory series: The abstract landscape paintings in Slow Memory are not observations of a place, but reflections on what remains after an experience has settled over time. Built through layers of paint, both adding and also excavating back into the layers to find what the piece has to say, each work explores the way memory softens, shifts and gathers, holding onto fragments rather than details. Forms emerge and recede, colours overlap, and traces of earlier marks remain visible beneath the surface. The paintings occupy a space between remembering and forgetting, where feeling endures long after specifics have faded.
