Workshops

An important part of my creative life is to be always learning, discovering, experimenting, and then having the joy of sharing the creative fun I've found along the way - and I always learn something from the participants at the same time.

I offer a range of 2 hour in person workshops which are held in the beautiful surroundings of Dromana Creative Hub & Gallery, 8 Beach St, Dromana, Victoria, Australia.  You can see the full selection of workshops on offer, dates, times etc at this link,, and bookings are taken through that site.

Here is an overview of my workshops that may be available at any time - they are always suitable for beginners, and everything you need is provided - just turn up and create.

Gel Plate Printing - I'm somewhat obsessed by making monoprints on my growing collection of Gel Plates.   To ensure each workshop is focussed, I offer them with a theme, eg:

Mastering Gel Plate Printing - Pattern & Texture - the basics.

Botanicals on the Gel Plate - using plants, weeds, natural materials

Feathery Fun on the Gel Plate - using a variety of feathers, including peacock.

Crystal and Lace on the Gel Plate - a step back into Grandma's day.

Ancient Mandalas using a Gel Plate and reverse printing technique

Image Transfers - from magazines, inkjet prints and laser prints

Old Hollywood Glamour - image transfers using images of glam movie stars

Denim and Grunge Gel Plate prints

Collage Workshops - I open up my personal stash of collage papers - gel printed, handprinted, and collected treasures - and guide participants through the process of making a finished collage painting on canvas or a wooden board, eg:

Collage an abstract Bird

Collage Flowers in Vases

Collage Sea Creatures

Collage a Seascape

Other Workshops - aside from Gel Plate printing and Collage, I also have workshops in mixed media, and paper-based arts, eg:

Mixed Media with Colour Card Challenge

Concertina Artbooks and Mini Zines

Stamp Carving and printing

Carve and Stamp your Christmas Card design

Mixed Media extended course over 4 weeks - developing several projects and using a lot of wet and dry media to learn how to layer them to develop depth and interest.
