Torn Blooms

Series:  Vases of Flowers Collage

Torn Blooms is a fun small collage of brightly coloured flowers in stunning statement vases.   My collage process starts with creating a stash of patterned printed papers using acrylic paints and various types of paper, opaque and transparent.  Then the papers are torn up into shapes, auditioned for starring or supporting roles, and then assembled and glued onto a cradled wooden panel in many layers.  Finishing touches and accents are added, a touch of gold here and there, and finally the whole surface protected from dust and moisture with a coating and buffing of wax, to a beautiful effect.

Each piece in the series is a statement in itself, or can work with others to make a small collection.  Ready to Hang on the wall,  or to style on a shelf with books, a candle, whatever you enjoy.
